Link: 🤍 When Yaakov Shwekey walked into ArtScroll/Mesorah headquarters last year with a group of children from the Special Children’s Center of Lakewood, the idea first popped into his head. And the idea had been germinating ever since. Yaakov saw the mural on the wall of Rabbi Meir Yaakov Zlotowitz zt”l, the legendary founder of ArtScroll/Mesorah Publications, along with a beautiful tribute penned by his partner, Rabbi Nosson Scherman, depicting the world-changing impact that this one man had on the world. Yaakov wanted to express those very sentiments through song, paying homage to Rav Meir Yaakov ben Rav Aharon zt”l, who lit up the world with his vision and dedication to spreading Torah to the four corners of the globe. It was thus that this song, Veha’er Eineinu, was born. The result is a stunning production that movingly portrays the story of a child who questions his own ability to make a difference, but goes on to become the greatest Torah disseminator of his time, forever changing the Jewish landscape. The takeaway? Hashem gave each of us talents and abilities. And just as Rabbi Meir Yaakov Zlotowitz did, so can you use yours to change the world. Shimon was a few weeks old baby when a terror attack occurred on Motzei Shabbat 20 years ago (Adar 5762 - March 2002) in Bet Yisrael neighborhood in Jerusalem. Shimon was rescued from under a car that was on fire that night. (A Riveting Story that’s in production and will be released soon) Shimon and his family survived. A few weeks ago I got from my Friend, the Musical Producer Tamir Zur, a draft for the lyrics "That nothing Bad comes from Heaven". The song and the message touched me deeply and I told Tamir that during my next visit to Israel, we must record this song. This song was composed by Shimon Levi, the baby who survived 20 years ago, who is not only talented in writing music and lyrics, but also a singer with an Amazing Voice and I invited him to perform the song as a Duet. It’s there in that Holy Shimon Hatzadik’s Cave that Rabbi Oren Levi (Shimon’s Father) spreads Torah to all who want to learn and grow! As part of an initiative started by Vayimaen, a large group of Talmidim in Yeshiva Gedolah Tiferes Yaakov Yitzchak undertook the project of learning the 90 daily lessons in the book “Positive Vision”. “Positive Vision”, an Artscroll publication masterfully written by Rabbi Avrohom Neuberger, provides daily lesson on Shmiras Einayim. Together with Vayimaen, Rabbi Brudny’s Yeshiva decided to take on this mission of accomplishing growth in this important topic. In Celebration, Vayimaen hosted the Siyum at Salt Steakhouse in Deal, NJ. It was an incredibly powerful evening, with words of Chizzuk aplenty.
